The Vision

 Our Vision

We see a culture of partnership and co-creation as offering an opportunity to make data more accessible to those who need and want it in the drive to achieve race equality.

Policy which effectively responds to race disparity must have empirical data at its heart.

The collaboration between Black South West Network and the University of Bristol was established to support the development of more evidence-based approaches to influence policy on race disparity.

The idea of a strategic collaborative co-designed space – RACE – responds to the opportunities offered by this partnership to address the gaps in data on race disparities in the region, and the needs of Race Equality activists for data to support their work.

With the additional attention given to race disparity recently, in light of coronavirus, the Black Lives Matter movement and the Government’s Sewell/CRED report, the need for data to empower responses to race disparity is as important now as ever.
